FASTING SECRETS REVEALED | Secret # 4

 The Secret of Daniel's 21 Day Fast

Do you know why fasting is so difficult? Because it is the strongest weapon against the flesh and the lusts thereof. When you fast, your prayers are magnified in power. The devil was so intimidated by Jesus' fasting in the wilderness that he actually tempted him to stop his fast! You will not change the mind of God when you fast but you will crucify your flesh and build your faith.



Below is an excerpt from chapter four of Fasting Secrets Revealed

The man Daniel was no better or special than us, but he made himself noticeable by prayer and fasting. God took notice and sent a messenger. Dan 10:13-17 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia. 14 Now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the latter days: for yet the vision is for many days. 15 And when he had spoken such words unto me, I set my face toward the ground, and I became dumb. 16 And, behold, one like the similitude of the sons of men touched my lips: then I opened my mouth, and spake, and said unto him that stood before me, O my lord, by the vision my sorrows are turned upon me, and I have retained no strength. 17 For how can the servant of this my lord talk with this my lord? for as for me, straightway there remained no strength in me, neither is there breath left in me. Who is the prince of Persia? Was he a man? No. this is referring to a spiritual prince. A demon spirit that was 58 ruling the kingdom of Persia in that era. The angel that came to Daniel says that the prince of Persia withstood him 21 days (v. 13) but, another angel comes by the name of Michael to fight against the prince of Persia. So now it is two against one. They now outnumber the evil spirit over Persia. Until Michael came, it seemed to be in a stalemate. What gave the breakthrough for this second angel by the name of Michael to get there? The answer is, the fasting of Daniel. He did not give up or give in. Daniel knew nothing of this unseen battle until the first angel revealed himself to tell the story. Now that there is a breakthrough, Daniel gets the message from the first angel. That message would have never gotten through without the second angel’s (Michael) help and the continued fast that opened that unseen doorway. 

Fasting opens the door to the heavenly realm for needed deliverance. You may never know or have the outcome of a situation revealed to you, but you must trust God. He could use you around the world as a spiritual missionary. This is so important in the ministry of fasting and intercessory prayer. You may be a secret weapon in the hands of our General. Let us tie in verse 16. This is the third angel in the passage. “one like the similitude of the sons of men…” In my first experience with angels, one night, sound asleep, I was awakened and immediately went into 59 intercessory prayer. I was very awake, which never happens in the middle of the night for me. I got out of bed and walked, praying with a substantial burden, and strongly speaking in tongues. After a little time of this, I became very weak and went down on my knees, still speaking in tongues. Suddenly, I felt a firm hand on my shoulder. I did not see him, but I know that was an angel that came to me that night. For what reason, I do not know. All I can say is, he possibly came to strengthen me, for I was in a spiritual battle that had been ongoing for some time.
