Learn to Fast
Your entire life can be blessed by the teachings found in the Bible. The subject of fasting is quite amazing and complex throughout scripture. I have written extensively about fasting in my book entitled "Fasting Secrets Revealed | Breakthrough Fasting".
One secret is about the mustard seed. The common teaching about mustard seed faith is about the "size" of faith. It is believed that Jesus was saying that with a small amount of faith, great miracles can happen. This is really a misteaching. Here is a small excerpt from chapter two of my book: "Extreme situations need extreme measures. The disciples of Jesus could not help the boy because of their small faith. They did not have fasting faith because they were not fasting. Jesus said that we need faith as a grain of mustard seed. Look at the word "as". Remember that little word because we will focus on that for a few minutes. Why could not the disciples free this boy? They were trained and taught by Jesus. They saw by example how he healed and delivered people, but they could not deliver this boy. They could have easily walked away and said, "it must not be the will of God for him to be delivered". Jesus walked into the situation and turned things around. He had a lot of fasting in the shadows, thus He could move in faith for any situation". I have a whole chapter on the subject to thoroughly prove the point. At least five times in scripture, Jesus condemned small faith. He never encouraged it or complimented it.
Matt 17:20-21
And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
21 Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.

The passage here in Matthew chapter 17 has nothing to do with the small size of your faith but instead the character of your faith. The mustard is a strong seed known for endurance and the ability to bounce back from bad weather and elements. As Jesus said in verse 21, to see this type of faith for deliverance, fasting, and prayer need to be applied. Fasting and prayer do not produce "small" faith but instead, strong faith.
